Josh Bottke Makes Amateur Boxing Debut in Kalamazoo
In Kalamazoo recently,
Manistee Combat Academy’s own Josh Bottke (@zarzillion) made his long-awaited debut in the boxing ring, representing the Manistee Boxing Club at an amateur event in Kalamazoo, Michigan.
Josh stepped through the ropes for the very first time, showing heart, grit, and determination against a seasoned opponent. Cornered by Coach Blake Ickes, he went toe-to-toe for every round, testing his skills and proving that his months of hard work and dedication in the gym have built a strong foundation for his boxing journey.
While the win didn’t come this time, the lessons learned were invaluable. Every fighter remembers their first time under the lights — and for Josh, this was only the beginning. The courage to step into the ring, put it all on the line, and represent the MCA family speaks volumes about his character and commitment.
At Manistee Combat Academy, we take pride in developing athletes who are not only skilled but resilient and dedicated to growth. Josh’s debut is a reminder that success isn’t only measured by the scorecards, but by the willingness to face challenges head-on.
We couldn’t be prouder of Josh, and we’re excited to see where his boxing journey takes him next.
